A new look and theme!

I was never terribly happy with the title "My Crafting Corner" - it was really just a vague sort of placeholder until I came up with the right name.  And now I think I have!

"Sidequest Crafting" is a reference to RPG games and the way that it's so very easy to get off-track from your central goal, and onto a side quest that's not related to the main story.  This is how I feel with crafting sometimes - I can be working on one project, and get an idea for another that I just have to try immediately.  It's really kind of amazing how many unfinished projects I have laying around.

On the plus side, side quests can be a lot of fun!  Sometimes you really just need to set a big project aside and have a change of pace for a while.  One of the things I learned from being a Game Master is that sometimes you just have to step back and let your players run a little wild, even if it throws your plot right off the rails.

This new direction is my way of extending the same courtesy to myself as to the players in my old games - to give myself the freedom to explore different ideas, to play with new techniques and to not feel guilty about abandoning a project or setting it aside if it isn't fun any more.  Crafting should be about self-expression, creativity, and enjoyment; not obligation.
