Weekly Update
Bi-Monthly update, maybe? But I don't want to make a bad habit of skipping posts. Let's leave it at Weekly Update.
Last weekend we traveled up north for my cousin-in-law's college graduation, and got a lot of bad weather. My poor car has hail dents now. I did get a lot of work done on the drive, though, and the blanket for my niece is coming along very nicely:
Now, to me, the above picture shows the front of the piece, because I really enjoy the tidiness of the joins between the squares. However, a friend pointed out that if the reverse side is the front, it looks kind of puffy, almost like a quilted blanket top would be:
I don't know; I'm feeling either one could work!

It's too large to photograph on my table now, so I had to lay it on the floor. I'm pondering an investment (some day in the future) in some sort of quilt rack to hang these for pictures as they grow.
I have a pattern roughed out, and a couple of friends said they'd help me test it for readability and making-sense-ness, so that's kind of exciting. :-)
Also, more progress on Mini Celestial Dreams:
It's hard to tell, because right now the whole thing is rows of dark blue and the confetti-spiral in the middle, but I really am making progress! This bit here is approximately 1300 stitches completed so far.
Last but not least, I think I've worked out the technique I was testing last month for quilt block-style crochet:
I think it would be a lot of fun to do a sampler-style blanket using the green, blue and variegated yarns in different combinations.
