Wednesday update

So much going on lately!  It's been easier to work on crafts in my breaks than it has been to sit down and write about crafts.  I have the same problem with books - I read more than I can be bothered to write reviews for, so Goodreads thinks I've only finished, like, three books this year.  ^_^;

Anyway....  big project number one is the Mystery Crochet-Along!  Yes, I actually did pick it up again after a month-long hiatus.  I had to do so much frogging that I just stuck the whole thing in a bag and ignored it out of frustration.

As a really quick refresher, this was the project from The Crochet Crowd; it was supposed to be 20 squares in a 4x5 layout, but I decided that was too small and wanted to do more like a 6x8.  I left off here:

Since I picked it up again a couple of weeks ago, I feel like I've been making good progress.  I fixed the problem I was having with the light grey base squares (did 5 rounds instead of 4, so basically had to go back with each one, frog the outer round, and sew the end back in).  Now the next three layers on the squares are done:

Quilt Block Sampler - I haven't done much more with this one over the last couple of weeks, but I did decide that it needed more variety in the color.  So to go along with the green/blue mix, I picked up some blue/purple that I think will look really good.

Sophies' Universe - not a lot of progress, mainly because I'm waiting for payday to pick up some more colors.  A friend gave me several skeins of yarn to use as well, but I tried one (kind of a goldenrod) next to the pale pink and didn't like that combination, so I want something else to put in between the two.  Here's where I left off:

And last but not least, the K Blanket!  Here it is displayed for you with the assistance of my lovely model, Chaos:

It doesn't matter what I'm working on, if it's vaguely blanket-shaped (or if it's a piece of paper) she has to be on top of it.  Here's the blanket without the benefit of her modeling skills:

Just a bit more to go with the medium purple!
