Weekly Update

So many neat things I've been working on lately!

Most exciting: Sophie's Universe from Look At What I Made

The full pattern is just so complex and beautiful; I really encourage you to go look at it.  :-)

Next, the Bruges lace scarf I've been working on has gotten much longer, and I'm starting to work back along the side for a border.  I really like the colors as it's been working up because they feel kind of volcanic to me:

Other items of interest: the next square in my figure-it-out-as-you-go Quilt Block Sampler:

I'm not sewing the two completed blocks together yet, mostly because I haven't decided if I want the whole piece to be in green/blue, or if I will add other colors.  I will say that the half-triangle squares are super easy to work up and this is a pretty fun project to work on!

And lastly, significant progress has been made on the "K" blanket:

The nicest thing about this pattern is that while you work each triangle side, the rows get shorter and shorter as you get closer to the top, so you get a nice sense of accomplishment.  The corresponding down side is that when you start each new triangle, the starting rows are significantly longer than the previous round's, so it can feel kind of like a futile effort at first.

For this one, I'm working on side three of the current round, and I'm planning one more round of the darkest purple.  After that, I'll have to decide whether to leave the blanket a square, or add something to opposite sides to turn it into a rectangle (the biggest factor in that decision will be if I think of anything cool enough or not).
