Blanket Updates!

There has been a lot going on at work lately, which means that when I get home, it's been more relaxing to play Skyrim than to try to plan projects.  I've been concentrating on just a few things in the last couple of weeks.

The Quilt Block Sampler:

Last time I showed off the colors I was choosing to alternate with the blue/green blocks.  I finished the first purple/blue one today, and I'm pretty happy with it:

I've even figured out how I want the blocks ordered, in terms of color placement, and have started sewing the three completed ones together to see how it looks.

Second, the K blanket is getting bigger and bigger, and I've begun adding the darkest purple.  Here's a quick preview of how that's going:

I lost some time on this one trying to stitch a letter "K" into the center dark pink square, but couldn't make it do anything I was really happy with.  Instead, I'm thinking about adding a flower or a snowflake - something symmetrical - that can be created separately and then sewn on.

Lastly, the Crochet Along Mystery Challenge (for which I am several months "late" already) is coming along fairly well, even if the picture is not the best:

As always, the moment I laid it out to shoot, I had... assistance... from the peanut gallery.  Chaos is a reoccurring helper, but this is Sam's first appearance in a while:

There's only so much of this blanket I can take at a time, and I'm about ready to stuff it back under the table for a while and pull out something else.  I think I'm not alone in this, however: two people I know who were also trying this pattern got very frustrated with it as well, so I don't feel too bad when I have to ignore it for my own well-being.  :-)
