Cotton hexagon blanket
I wanted to make a blanket for myself, so I picked a pattern called "Red Tide" from the book Go Crochet! Afghan Design Workbook by Ellen Gormley. The book has a lot of very interesting motifs - triangles, hexagons and octagons as well as squares - but this one in particular really kind of called to me. I like the textured style of the centers.
The book gives recommendations on what other motifs you could use to make a mix-and-match blanket, but for this, I decided to use only "Red Tide" and mix the colors instead. I picked a soft cotton yarn and have been making the blocks in a mostly random fashion, but trying not to repeat an exact color combination. That should give me a total of 210 before I have to repeat any. :-)

This is a low-pressure project for me; I started it early last year and have been working on it only sporadically. Since it's just for me, I don't mind if it takes a while to finish.
