Weekly Update

I've been spending more time lately than I should looking up new crochet patterns and plotting new projects.  Luckily, my budget buddy is holding me accountable not to buy any art supplies this whole month, so anything new has to be craftable from stock already in the stash.  :-)  Here are a few things I found especially interesting:

Christmas ornaments

Hair bows that I could sew to barrettes

This Mandala pattern - so intricate!  I'm considering making this with DMC floss.

And a Companion Cube that looks tricky, but would be incredibly satisfying to have with my collection of nerd junk at work.  ^_^

In other news, I have finished all 20 granny squares for step 1 of the Mystery Crochet-Along, and am eagerly waiting for step 2 (which should come out sometime on Tuesday).

After I finished sewing in all the loose ends on these, I also worked on my scarf for a while.

It's coming along quite nicely!  I am worried about running out of the variegated yarn before it reaches the length I want; and since there is that above-mentioned self-imposed moratorium on new purchases, it may have to wait until March for completion.

Also got a bit more done on the log cabin blanket, but it's not impressive enough for pictures.  I'm planning to spend tomorrow on cross-stitch, since it's a holiday from work, and hopefully will have enough completed to make it part of Wednesday's post.
